Lüz is a visual design studio that provides lighting, set design and video content services. Located in Montreal but active worldwide, Lüz specializes in the performing arts. It is recognized for its creative approach, skilfully combining visual elements within a realistic budget. The team consists of 12 designers and a number of contributing specialists.
Lüz Studio has created numerous visual designs and built an enviable reputation in all of the performing arts. In music, Lüz is behind the look of American bands Panic! At the Disco, Broken Bells and Foster the People, and has also worked with Rufus Wainwright and Adam Cohen.
In theatre, the Lüz team worked on the Christmas classic The Nutcracker, with the Nevada Ballet Theatre in Las Vegas, and on numerous musicals produced by Just for Laughs, most recently, Mary Poppins. In comedy, it has worked with many comedians on their shows, including Lise Dion, Sugar Sammy and Messmer. The studio also worked with Rock et Belles Oreilles on the show The Tounes. It has contributed to the Francofolies de Montréal, Canada’s 150th anniversary celebrations in Ottawa, the Fête nationale du Québec in Montreal and Canadian Music Week. In television, Lüz developed the visual identity for the Gala des Prix Gémeaux and for Célébration, both broadcast on TVA and on Télé-Québec’s Y’a du monde à messe.
